@@midatravel I've watched your drinks package video twice too again very concise and clear. We haven't bothered upgrading and we won't bother now. Seeing the drinks menu on your video shows that there's plenty for us, particularly as we only have 3 sea days on the 14 night cruise.

We were on Disco 2 at end of May into June 2023. We loved it. Loved the Live room and the entertainment there. The Squid & Anchor was excellent too. I put a video up of our trip but it is not as polished as yours. I was too busy enjoying the indulgences to worry about my video. We're back onboard in September so probably film more then. Excellent vid guys.

We loved Discovery 2, not everything was perfect but by the end of the cruise it pretty much seemed that way. Look forward to seeing what you come up with in September.

Hi, Thanks for watching and for your kind comments. We had also heard mixed reviews about the food. The first 24hrs were difficult as all our bad experience came in this period. Once we had tried all of the different places we settled in to going to the places we knew we would enjoy. Marella is good value and its not the company you would chose if you were looking for fine dining but that does not mean that you should not expect good food and on the whole that is what you get. If you don't like something you have plenty of other restaurants to try. Your med cruise sounds brilliant and i am sure once you have done your first cruise it will not be your last. 🚢🚢🚢🌞🌞🌞🍹🍹🍹😎

Wow, some memories there. For its age it is still looking so good (bar cabins which need refurb) and i agree 100% we found it to be a lovely ship and people are still very friendly, staff are superb. 🚢🚢🍹🍹😎😎😃😃

We are going on marella discovery in December really looking forward to it weve not been on discovery 2 yet but many times on discovery ship we love marella, we are going on a really different cruise line Ambassador so that will be exciting to see how it compares to marella ive enjoyed watching the video of discovery 2 so we know what to expect i know its the same layout as the discovery ship.

I think Marella are excellent too, you will find faults but you can't help loving them! Let me know how you get on with Ambassador, i was looking at a cruise with them the other day but our next will be on the Voyager. @midatravel Thank you Midatravel we do love marella like you say people will find faults but we've always been happy with Marella I will let you know how we go on with ambassador ambition ship we will make the most of it my partner got email offering us the last cabin on deck 9 upgraded drinks package we couldn't refuse the offer so we booked it plus it goes from Liverpool so no flying that's a bonus 😀

Love Disco 2 . all staff are so friendly, Food was delicious, Drinks should all be as one , can be confusing and time wasting for bar staff .

You make some great points and i definitely agree about the staff being so friendly and happy. We always found something we enjoyed eating. Drinks package is a waste of money, non premium is all you need but agree it can be frustrating. 🚢🍹🌞😎

Hi! How did you find getting a sun lounger (if you attempted to) I’m wondering if it would always be too busy to find somewhere to sit on the deck. I’ve never been on a cruise before so not sure

Hi. We are not really lay in the sun people but i have to say that there are so many sun beds that you should not have any difficulty in finding one you like. If you like to be by the pool then it will be busy and first come first served! On our first cruise with Marella if you wanted a particular spot you had to be out at 7am to place your towels but we always managed to find somewhere to suit us later in the morning. On our latest cruise a message was put out to people not to leave stuff on beds and if there unattended for over an hour would be removed. I do not understand how they could police this but it did seem to deter people going out too early and reserving the beds, it was often after 8am that things started to get busier. Hi Carolyn, big birthday needs a big treat so yes a cruise is a great idea in our opinion. A week is perfect if it is your first time and unsure whether you will like it. Maybe just a week you would be better doing a cruise in Europe but you could always have a weeks cruise and then a week at a hotel resort if you go further afield, such as the Caribbean. I will warn you that a lot of people after their first cruise get the bug to do nothing else! Whatever you do please come back and let us know how you get on. Hi Marsha, we stayed on deck 3 in an outside room. If you look in our cruise playlist you will see full review of an outside room. We enjoyed our stay in this room but it is in need of a refurb. 🚢🚢🚢🍹🍹🍹😎😎😎

Hi Cherry, thanks for watching. Marella is very much geared up for British tourists but Americans can certainly sail on Marella ships and would be very welcome. If you search for Marella (cruise only) then you will see the ports that Marella cruise from and as long as you can get there then you are good to go. Happy cruising. More choice on Premium package and better brands but really not worth it. We have a video on the drinks package where we go through the different drinks and show you whats alll inclusive and whats on the premium package. Easy to find on our Marella playlist. 🍹🍹🍹

Hi. We like Marella as it is a lot less formal than other ships. During the day you can wear whatever you choose to any of the restaurants. I think the only exception is that you wouldn't go in with just a bathing suit..That would need to be covered up. We would put a smarter pair of shorts on if we ate in the table serviced 47 but I don't think it's obligatory. Hope that helps but if you need anything else give us a shout. 😃🚢🌞

Looking to take grandkids aged 6 8 and 9. Is there much on board for them,also do they have sailaway party ,are there any formal nights like captains party

Hi Gary. Can only go by what we experienced. Firstly sail away party's, yes, think we had several. Do not think that they have Captains party/dining, we certainly never saw anything advertised, probably due to the fact that they don't have a loyalty programme. You can do a ship tour which is extra but don't know whether that includes meeting the captain. Probably not so much for children on a Marella cruise but there are the pools, mini golf, wall climbing, VCR room. There are childrens clubs which i would imagine would keep them happy.
