Love your washi tape and your flowers. Had you thought about rolling your cut baking paper with the washi still attached to your roll. It would be one less time of removing and resticking the tapes. You could glue or tape the beginning of the washi strip to your roll. Paper towel and gift wrap tubes would give you more room for strips. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy both your channels. Patti

Lovely diy washi tape! I taught this same technique years ago when washi tape was first introduced. In the workshop, I also taught stamping on all different types of tapes. It's also fun to use your own diy carved stamps for a unique look. As an alternative, my fave base tape for stamping is Scotch Removable because it is so low-tack, just like store-bought washi. Next fave is Scotch Magic permanent, because of its translucency. In addition, I like to stamp onto clear packing tape [see video by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer], and clear or white medical tape. If you also like pops of white background, it's interesting to stamp on Post-it correction tape, too! I prefer the wider size. DIna Wakely also makes a good solid color [white] base tape - but it's a tad more opaque than Scotch tapes - and hers has a slightly rougher texture. Regarding Masking tape, due to it's extreme tackiness, I don't use/adhere Masking tape as the base for diy washi. Instead, when I use it, I prefer to adhere Masking tape directly to the paper/page/base. Making diy washi is S-O much fun - as was teaching how to make it, too! tfs!

You can add masking tape to Avery paper (take off the labels… stick tape to shiny side) and print on it. I’ve been doing this for years. Just an extra idea!

Do you have a link for the masking tape. Ours in US is more opaque and doesnt look half as good with stamping on it. Ive found some matt printable sticker paper that ive been pprinting on with my printer and cutting with my silhouette cameo, and it ends up looking like nice washi, and i guess i could cut it into strips and use it as tape, but really like the idea of using masking tape and stamping. Beautiful ideas and creativity that you share are so appreciated!
