For some reason suck it up actually helps me get over stuff. There's this quote from the song Withdrawal called "Life's a game, just stay strong.". Long quotes just don't hit home to me. When I tell myself to "suck it up, stay strong", it just works. So I play this song, and I feel better. Knowing that things don't always go your way. In fact it's very rare for them to go your way.
