We desperately need people of Mrs Thatcher’s calibre now more than ever - had she and those of a similar mindset to her been around, things like 9/11, Brexit and Covid would have handled much more differently and swiftly - I was a teenager in Rural Republic of Ireland in the 1980’s when she was in office and I really admired and respected her and I was aware that she and our Prime Minister (Taoiseach) Charlie Haughey of the Fianna Fáil party in our Parliament (Dáil Éireann) were great friends - when I first moved to Manchester 21 years ago, I could never understand the hatred that many had for her long after her passing, but I did like her as a person ❤️❤️❤️

I'd read, in Charles Moore's bio of her, of PM Thatcher attracting enormous crowds in Moscow: it was absolutely fascinating to see footage of that visit in this documentary. And what a pleasant change to see crowds NOT holding-up mobiles for their own personal photos! That visit was less than 40 years ago: how the World has changed; how differently the West views Russia - and its leadership - today. Imagine how differently the course of History may have been had both Thatcher & Gorbachev remained in power longer. Fascinating, too, to see Maggie Thatcher in action: whatever one may think of some of her policies, she conducted herself as a PM with great dignity, and commands Respect. Few national leaders of today match her in that regard.

Not since Churchill have we seen such a phenomenon states person, who was loved, respected, & honoured around the world. Margaret Thatcher's legacy will grow & grow, as the years pass, it was because she was so respected Gorbachev, had invited her to Russia. Remember that he was a Soviet leader wanting to reform, Russia at that time he was asking and looking, to her for possible advice, to reform and change.

Gorbachev's reforms caused more damage than World War 2! Famine, unemployment, and ethnic conflicts began in the USSR. Gorbachev crossed out all its results of World War II, and a revision of the post-war borders in Europe began. The USSR, USA, UK and France occupied Germany under the Yalta agreements. The Allies also had to leave Germany all together. But Gorbachev withdrew his troops unilaterally and NATO expanded to the East and is now encroaching on the territory of the USSR, which no one legally liquidated! The borders of Ukraine were signed by Molotov as the borders of the USSR in 1945. The agreement is in Moscow! Independent Ukraine does not have an official border..

I'm very impressed of how Raisa Gorbacheva looked and acted like, it's known to me that she was educated lady however I really liked the way she was dressed (beautiful golden set in Bolshoi theatre) and acted with a lot of tact and manners. Thatcher was a high handed, mean-spirited, and belligerent individual who peddled an demented political and economical ideology of cutting taxes for the rich, cutting government assistance for the poor, and cutting regulations for the banks and corporate businesses, in the misguided and obsessed belief that it would lead to economic growth. She was shown these terrible panel houses as achievements of the Soviet Union? Seriously? Well.. it’s immediately clear that the old partyocracy has degraded and ruined this country. This is panel housing that came from France, it was primarily intended as cheap social housing, I would not say that it can be called the pride of the country. There is nothing complicated about building houses and nothing to be proud of. The USSR had a lot of interesting things to show, but Gorbachev showed Margaret Thatcher in the form of the achievements of the USSR - cheap panel social housing that looks terrible.
