From experience, some injuries need time to swell and then have the swelling go away before surgery. I shattered my left kneecap into 5 pieces being ran into by a biker at the park. They had to wait 3 days before surgery. They put an air cast on it to keep the leg in place, the 3 days later they opened up my leg, retrieved the 5 pieces from throughout reassembled it with screws and put it back in

The rice dumpling in banana leaves are popular all over SE Asia. It is a big thing in Taiwan and comes with pork, chestnuts, peanuts, mushroom and all sorts. Sticky glutinous rice. Very tasty.
