Yes, you would have to pledge as again. I understand the pledge system is a cumbersome leg, but introduced by SEBI in interest of investors. In evening after 6 pm, after taking the positions, please do check for NDSL SMS and do the OTP confirmation

When I do Intra Day trading my trading will be like 5-10 shares and the brokerage is around 6 to 8 rupees while trading with other brokerage firms but your starting minimum slab itself is Rs. 15 + GST. If I buy say for Rs. 10000 in other brokerage firms, I pay 10000*0.05%=Rs.5 +GST 0.90=Rs.5.90. Both ways I mean buy & sell will be ₹. 11.80. But in your firm I have to pay ₹. 15 GST ₹. 270=₹17.70 My loss in brokerage account while trading with you will be roughly around ₹. 5.90 per transaction. That is why I trade with other firms. But your website is very good. Improvements are required in lower brokerage matching with other firms, and staff at ICICI Direct need to be more courtesy and customer friendly. Thanks.

Gupta ji, did you got the information for Income tax using MTF? I am also looking for the expert answer. My understanding is since its a equity delivery product, its under the normal capital gain or capital loss tax like normal equity and mutual funds(ITR3) and not under the business income like Futures and options trading. Hope some expert in taxation can answer.

I watched your presentation and I think it is a good product, However I have a few queries: a) Pledge for equity was an option that was explained. What is Pledge for NWB ( Net withdrawal balance I assume) How does it work. If I choose that option, does it mean that the funding is available across all i.e., equity and F & O. b) When shares are pledged, is the leverage as explained or does the whole amount get locked for the buy? please explain Mr. Saurav.

Sir you are right, NWB is net withdrawal balance. It means limits are free. It is not a combined limit. You will have to allocate to equity or derivatives to use it. You can reduce or add free limits to any segment , but that is must.

Sir, 2nd part, if I have understood correctly. There are couple of things; let’s say value of trade was 1 lacs. Initial margin was 30k. This was through shares. So 1 lacs of shares will be credited in your account ; pledged in favour of ICICIdirect. The 30k of margin is also pledged and 1 lacs of shares pledged.
