sir plz ye Q hi nai smja I mean solve hi nai ho Ra ..Tom Ltd has sale rs 200000 with variable exp 150000 and fixed exp 60000 and an operating loss 10000 .how much would Tom Ltd hav to increase its sale in order to achieve an operating income 10℅ of sale ????? plzzzzzzzzzzzz sir rply it's my request

I think I got the answer. Assume units for the above question to be 10,000. Therefore Selling Price per unit is 20, Variable Expenses per unit is 15 and therefore Contribution per unit is 5 (20-15). Since the question asks to achieve an operating income 10% of sale, Profit per unit is 2 (10% of 20(selling price per unit)). So balancing figure Fixed Expenses per unit is 3 (20-15-2=3) Now, Fixed Expenses divided by Fixed Expenses per unit (60000/3) = 20000 Units. Sales = 400000 (20000*20) (-)Variable Exp = 300000 (20000*15) Contribution = 100000 (20000*5) (-) Fixed Exp = 60000 Profit = 40000 (100000-60000) And Profit is 10% of Sales.
