Exactly! You just know certain actors if they take a role that you can trust their judgment, they selected a good script and if they are the star, they make sure they are with good supporting cast, good writing, good cinematography, good editing, etc.

She makes anything and everything she is in funnier, more tender, intense, you name it. Although Margo may not consider this one of her more complicated roles, I loved her in the movie, Secretariat.

Such an artist who elevates everyone around her. So many roles. Her segment in "Paris Je t'aime" is more of a monologue but hauntingly touching and beautiful.

I interviewed Margot Martindale in Memphis when she was in the movie The Firm. We spent a quiet afternoon outside of the art gallery, just two women talking. She is the most pleasant, humble, unassuming and talented woman I’ve ever met. I could tell from her energy and that unmistakable glint her eye that this little part she had then was just a springboard into the marvelous and enduring career that she’s created. Bravo Margot!!! 👏🏻

When I was a freshman at the University of Michigan I had a small part in a musical, Gypsy, where Margo played the lead. Though she was only in her early twenties, she played that role like a Boss. She was so dedicated to her craft it was obvious to the rest of us in the show she was going to be a success.

Walk Hard, when she's wandering "backstage" looking for Dewey at the talent show. Best five seconds ever. Face checking 12 year old boys and finally finding the grown man that is her boy. "There's my favourite 14 year old son". Just perfect.

Was so happy when she was honored with a well deserved Emmy for "Justified." She is just great in everything I've ever seen her in. Never thought I'd see the phrase "provincial syrup overlords." You Canadians really do take your maple syrup seriously.
