It's moments like 3:45 for me. Who else can heighten the drama like that and just ride the wave without interpolating a ridiculous high C? She made the G more dramatic and real and deep. Also the way she builds up to it and then slowly comes down. No one else could even dream of pacing like that

Thank You "Callas Fan". Wonderful part from the rehearsal, wich I know from ealier. That time, 1957-1958 was Callas voice exeptional controlled. Callas created her own universe and will never be replaced. Thank You from the heart.

IMO it was the incredible and unique middle register that gave Maria the gift to act with the voice like no other in recorded history.

Callas was a phenomenon - her sensitivity, intelligence, imagination, everything really. Tiny details of expression to full dramatic power- she could do everything. I read somewhere that Meneghini -who restricted access to Callas as way of exerting power- lay behind the lack of filmed records . If so I hope he's roasting down below.

Rescigno was brilliant - what he did with Callas on the Mad Scenes and Macbeth recital discs is amazing. But what I meant to say was that he would have conducted Bolenda 1000 times better than Gavazzeni.

It sounds heavenly because Callas can easily (one can almost say rightfully) bitch Reschigno. I mean he ain't no Serafin nor Toscanini.
