Is it just me or she looks younger here? Madame Maria's acting of this aria is just fascinating. I enjoyed every bit of it. When she smiles, I smile as well. You're in our hearts Maria, always and forever!

Utterly incandescent! 52 years have passed, and no one can sing like her, with top notes, without top notes, fat, thin, depressed, raggedy voice in the 70s, or flawless singing, like here. She did say once to Giulietta Simionato, after their opening night in Anna Bolena: "Dopo di me-nessuno!" Pinheads like Renée Fleming and Debra Voigt squabble about "when Callas' voice began to deteriorate" and I ask them: Who cares what the fuck you think? She'll still be remembered, long after Fleming and Voigt are buried in their tacky dresses.

Magnific presentation. Maria Callas is a unique jewel of the Opera! I totally enjoy her strong delivery of this aria, the quality and purity of her voice, her graceful stage presence. In my book, she is the greatest opera singer of the twentieth century.

@Neldidellavittoria8 жыл бұрын

She could sing coloratura, mezzo (as in this recording), and contralto, as well. And when she sang-and acted-everyone listened with bated breath! Unfortunately, this having-to-sing-everything, and her utter drive to always be perfect; but especially, singing in all three voices (and several in between), became her untimely undoing! A voice unique, and unsurpassed!
