Onassis ordered the Maison de Cartier to offer anything Callas wanted, no matter the cost, without accepting money from her, anywhere in the world. When Callas found out, she never set foot in any of the Cartier shops again. That was Callas. The embodiment of dignity and integrity. She had the means, the money and the adoring, generous fans around her, who were more than ready to spare anything she longed for. She wasn't a kept woman and a gold digger. Onassis found out what a gold digger meant, when he married the widow, who notoriously ripped him off even for the price of a coat.

YUCK jewelry the worst of the style of the time. was at the taylor auction at sotheby at rocefellier center. Cannot comment on value of jewels but design pieces were very ordinary.
