Hi there! I only just came across this video. Thank you for all the lovely compliments! I really appreciate that :) The shaking in my voice was about 50% nerves and 50% for the theatrics, haha! Love, Maria

Maria!!!! How amazing to see you here! You did a fabulous job of the song and I loved watching your journey unfold on the voice. Have you had much vocal training? It is so hard to find accurate information about singers on the voice as I know it is so much about the show. I would love to hear more about your journey as a singer to help others who wish you reach your level. Have a wonderful evening! Zoe

@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach Thank you very much !! I have not had any vocal training ever in my life actually. Only the tiniest bit of what Ina (the The Voice coach) gave me behind the scenes. Right now I have not pursued my singing career any further as The Voice has had a big toll on me and made me realise that a career in the industry is not the ideal choice for my mental health, and unfortunately never will, as social and performance anxiety will always be the biggest part of me. I would’ve loved to share my journey, but as of right now, sadly I won’t have anything to share. I have sung since before i could start speaking and it has always been my way of communicating. It will always be a passion of mine and eventually I want to start giving out original songs where I wish to write about different challenges we all go through at some point to help other people realise that they’re not alone. I’m just not going to be performing any time in the near future :) You too have a wonderful evening, Zoe! Keep up the great work you do on your channel!

I can't believe it took so long for those guys to turn, I've only just seen her today on The Voice and I like 'the female judge' heard her potential from the very first note. Her voice brought me to tears, and gave me goosebumps. Possibly the sweetest voice I heard in decades.

I think it's Equalization (EQ) where certain frequency ranges (Low, Mid and High or multiple frequency intervals) can be amplified or suppressed. Compressors prevent audio amplitude from getting louder than a certain level, changing the linear in-to-out to a curved in-to-out at the high end to prevent distortion. It's often used with multiple sound sources(e.g. choirs) to keep one louder singer from dominating the others as they move into ff or fff dynamic marking of a song. The other element of electronic manipulation of sound is the effects (Reverb). Common forms of reverb are plate which is like singing in a stairwell and the sound bounces back after the travel delay is is fed back into the audio path making a fuller more pleasant sound. Other forms of reverb are chorus and delayed echo but they all feed back some form of delayed audio back into the audio stream. These audio manipulations can be applied to live music (The Wish Bus has fantastic electronic audio application) as well as being applied to raw audio post production. In post production pitches can be corrected and multiple voices can be aligned, as well which can't be done live. Singers and musicians in general owe a lot to good audio electronics and especially to the sound tech who is adept at applying these tools. It's a good idea to keep a good sound tech happy!

Maria has given a tad more emotion in this version of the song. I like it, can't have enough that I have to listen several times a day to her version. My wife and son like her version too as much as I do.

You say her voice sounded a bit shaky….I would say that Bille’s voice is shaky. Maria’s voice is controlled. For me the bottom line is that Maria is doing much better job then Bille. It’s one of those situations where the cover is better then the original..

@@more5600 I agree, much better but I think Ellish is overrated in general. I tried, I really tried to find something I like in her style and could not. I think this Bond theme song is the worse ever. They always pick a singer that happens to be popular at the time to write and sing the theme song and since I say she overrated the song is a desaster.

@@jc2832 Her voice is not shaky, at most Billie is using vibrato. Definitely far from a disaster, but it's okay to have favourites.

I think the shakiness is intentional. Shows vulnerability and makes it more emotional. I don't know anything about singing. I just know how it makes me feel.
