I have always thought highly of Shriver. I find her to be extremely articulate well versed and adroit regarding her surroundings. That is why I find it completely inexplicable that she was unaware of the love child that her maid and Arnold produced

Years ago, she had asked Arnold about a baby, Arnold denied it. I saw Arnold say that on George Stephanopolis’ show. And, Arnold talked about it in his book. So, since Arnold denied anything about a baby, she must have believed him. Plus, who would think a husband would keep a Mistress& baby under the same roof, as his wife. I stand in awe of Maria Shriver! I think she is smart, hard working, well read, kind, etc. She has a lot of humility, considering her super blessed background. I love how she talks about having a purpose in life, fighting Demeentia, etc. Thank God she is using her position, skills, and God given talents to help others.

Mary Grant Good afternoon. Your characterization of Maria Shriver is quite poignant and acute. As I conveyed in my earlier comment I too have always been in a fan of Maria shriver's sensibility, compassion, humility, and her strong sense of values. Shriver as always appeared to be extremely prescient and I'm certain this was heightened from her standing career in journalism. Hence, although she may inquired and the inquiry was repudiated it would have been extremely glaring as the young boy matured that the boy shredded strong resemblance to Arnold period Furthermore, Shriver hails from a long line of men in her family who are infamously known for their dalliances. Again I'm simply not buying or feeding into that she became complacent with the initial repudiation.

Why didn't she love her husband unconditionally, he made a mistake that he regrets, he loves her and their children, he wants her as his best friend and wife, so what good came from the divorce ? She made a bigger mistake than what her husband made, she destroyed her family and hurt her kids by her action.

S C you are wrong in your thinking, Arnold regrets his mistake, he loves his wife and family and wants to be together more than anything. People like Maria who are high profile must be careful on the example they set for us. She shouldn't have ended their marriage so quickly over his regrettable mistake. Did ending the marriage bring any family member happiness....no. They are just another divorce statistic. I think Maria rushed to end her marriage out of anger and thinking she would show women that this is what you do if your husband makes a mistake, too bad she didn't show us that with counseling and a forgiving heart and trust in Her faith, that marriages can be saved. Arnold is the one who made the mistake of cheating but I think Maria may have had "some" of the blame for it happening. Something is wrong in our society for the divorce rate to be so high is the point I'm trying to make, rushing out to get one as soon as there is trouble is not a good solution.

no she did not made a mistake, her husband lover was living in Ms. Shrive home for 21 years, can you imagine the pain to know that woman was living under the same roof. That was really horrible.

I agree Katherine. I think she's done well by her children to refrain from any public judgements or disdain of Arnold their father. I think by doing that she has on some level forgiven him but existing in a marriage with this degree of disrespect, dishonor, and dishonesty to her and her children for so long would be difficult for anyone to go back to. I respect how she's dealt with this and has kept her family functioning positively. Yes, she filed but has not divorced him still. as of 2018.
