There is so much respect for Selena here in Corpus Christi. Like most other cities we have a huge gang problem where they vandalize and spray paint everywhere espicially on murals. However, there is this one mural of selena in this one bad part of town. It's been there for 20 years and not one person has ever sprayed over it nor put any types of graffiti on it. Goes to show how even the bad element here respects this one talented and heartwarming singer. The stores around her boutique one year were constantly getting burglarized except Selena's store. She is forever loved in our hearts.

@diozr3524
@diozr3524 7 жыл бұрын
People these days don't care about a sex tape, but the point of the original comment wasn't to put down other artists, it was to say that she didn't use shortcuts to boost her fame, like how Kim used her sex tape instead of working for her career, and how many artists, like Britney Spears and - ironically - Jennifer Lopez and Selena Gomez, instead of succeeding through their raw talent. The point is not to bully or shame other artists/people, but to point out that Selena did more than any of these modern day celebrities, who thrive off the materialism of our generation, without taking the easy roads that they have. She was real and she actually worked for her goals, every step of the way.

Yeah I really wish people wouldn't try to unless they sang like her but that is really really really hard to find. It's not just the voice it is the person too. It's either not enough soul, can't hit the notes, too many vocal techniques that seem so unnatural, not enough power, and you can hear in their voice that they are focusing on perfection when with her it seemed to be so effortless like she didn't have to try and she was just enjoying life and being on stage.

I remember for weeks Selena was played over all the R&B & Hip Hop airways. I witnessed people crying while hearing her on the car radio & throughout loud speaker in the hood! Everybody sang to the lyrics! Even the hard core thugs! I talking about Black People! She was very much our Queen just as the Latino communities icon! She was sewn in the fabrics of so many hearts & homes. We got to Witness A Angel! So sad she left us so soon. 😫🙏🏾

Gosh. I had to force myself to not cry watching this. such a tremendous talent gone too soon. my brother, a big burly teddy bear of a guy, sings I could fall in love word for word whenever it plays on the radio. Her music transcended all barriers and resonated with so many people regardless of race, age, or sex. I wish she were alive to see all of this

Seeing this really makes me think about how she influenced my life before I was even born. She died two years before I was born, but her songs, her influence and her presence was still felt in my household. Even now, I listen to her music with fondness as it takes me to a happy place.

That quote at the end is beautiful ❤️ I am very new to the world of Selena, but what a beautiful soul she was. So full of life. She loved to be on stage. She was so happy. Cannot comprehend the mindset of the woman who took such a beautiful soul from this world. 🥀

Selena was such a beautiful person inside and out. She loved her fans and was such a kind soul. It kills me to think that she was only 23, and how much she had going for her. I think she would be happy to know that still today, she's loved by so many and is, indeed, a house hold name. She deserves all the love. It's just so sad her life ended at such a young age and how it happened. I hope Yolanda suffers.

Now that you say that Selena was like the Latina version of Aaliyah and same vice versa. Both influenced others and life ended too soon. I'm sure if they both were physically still alive they would be just as big if not even bigger than J-lo and Beyonce.
