Mariah Carey - Butterfly (TMC Butterfly Twentyfive Radio Mix)

On what is something of a transitional album, Mariah and her hypersonic wail turned her private pain into an emboldening source for her magnum opus: "Butterfly" wherein she could create, delicately yet unfiltered and unapologetically. The title track features Mariah's pop-gospel vocals which are, as per usual, filled with attention to detail and raw emotion. She sings in her high thin register, almost fluttering like a real butterfly trying to spread her wings, until she finally rakes up the courage and takes flight with that glorious belt register. For my mix, I took the vocals up to 123 BPM, speeding them up ever so gently while retaining their quality. I created some harmonies from various parts of her leadvocal as well, and chopped up the background vocals here and there to make them sound less lazy and more on-beat which works better on a dance production. Overall I'm pretty happy with how this came out and I hope you can appreciate it as well. Happy anniversary, Butterfly! #butterfly25

That would work if I had the background vocals from the session, but they are missing. The background vocals you hear are filtered from the Classic Bossa Nova version. An epic suite would expose many artifacts that are not as audible in a dance mix. I could do a version with just the leadvocals but that would just be awkward I think. But I appreciate the input and thank you for noticing the Epic Suites :)
