Mariah's whole Daydream album concept is so clever. She was basically trapped in a toxic marriage/business environment and as you go through the album, it basically takes you through her daydream. This song came out in fall 1995 and in December 1995 I had to be hospitalized at age 3 for a blood disorder. The girl next to me on the pediatric unit in the room next to me was a 16-year-old leukemia patient who would always play this song. I was only 3 so I didn’t know about music.
