Mariah's whole Daydream album concept is so clever. She was basically trapped in a toxic marriage/business environment and as you go through the album, it basically takes you through her daydream. She wakes up in "daydream interlude"/"looking in" at the end, but in Fantasy, she's at the beginning of her awakening. The instrumentals in all of the song are eerie too. She's a genius.

Her singing ability hit into the 9 octave range, which the vast majority of professionally trained singers can only Fantasize about. (And that includes opera singers.) Honestly, if you REALLY listen to her voice, especially when she did that high whisper, you cannot deny that she had such a range that made her uniquely talented. And I know I am officially old now, but God I am so sick hearing so many of today's singers using nothing but autotune and other effects that equates to nothing more than talentless wannabes. Sorry, not sorry, they just don't make them like they used to!

You clearly not branched out music wise to say nobody can touch her vocals it could be Spanish singers or Korean etc you just stuck in that mainstream loop like a pyramid branch out and you'll be surprised hate me for saying that but its the truth

This song, and her adlibs and harmonies, really exemplifies one thing about Mariah’s musicality to me… her adlibbing and improv (on all her songs) is like a song in and of itself! She sings the verses, backup singers on chorus, which is normally when singers adlib. With Mariah, her adlibs are so musical alone, and they lead in and out of verses and choruses. She may say she lacks musical theory knowledge but she’s a natural.
