As incredible as the Def Club Mix remains, this is my favorite House remix on the Fantasy EP. Essentially an extended version of the Daydream Interlude which remains readily available on the 1995 hit album, this Sweet Dub Mix really captures the silky and ethereal quality of a lover's daydream. The bright piano and soft drums are a dream while Mariah's repeated vocal runs enter the listener into a trance like state and glide you along for the ride. Then of course there are the whistles which remain fantastic. As a bonus, we also get the iconic E5 belt heard in the Def Club Mix. The total package!

Mariah's remixes were gold. Why current singers, bands and record companies don't put out different versions of songs such as the clean radio version and different remixes is beyond me. Artists especially pre 2010s really understood how different their song sounded through remixes. Mariah was smart enough to embrace it.

Who played piano on this beast?! I came to this song from an unconventional route: I bought an album called Masters@Work Dance Series (by British rave organisation and label Helter Skelter) and the track DJ Vibes - Fantasy (DJ Vibes Remix) had sampled this song; . My girlfriend at the time had the Mariah Carey album with Daydream interlude and one day I came across this shortened version. From there, it took another 5 years until I found this extended version!
