It's not who she is at heart. I mean, as of recently, just look at a lot of her Caution era interviews (E.g. The Genius Interview) or her Memoir era interviews. They were less surface level. It also depends on the Interviewer. When MC is comfortable, she opens up a bit more and we see her smarts and how involved she is with all her work.

This is so niche and stupid but I hate how they started "over teasing" the hair in the mid 90's and over penciling the eyebrows. I always notice that Mariah and Shania had very similar wardrobes and makeup during '95 and '96. All black, slim fitting full coverage and the same overdrawn makeup. I like it less that the ruffled hair and naturalness of the early 90's.
