5:13 its called a glissando when you gradually go from one note to another. Patti actually does it in her version of Somewhere over the rainbow thats why she did it. Yes I believe most of us enjoy Mariah but Patti's tone and power of her voice are just 1 of a kind. I remember watching this when it aired. I did like how creative and clever Mariah was in her delivery. Just wasn't received well by the audience. Patti was moved and proud of her though. When it comes to legends like Patti LaBelle, Stephanie Mills, and Chaka it takes a certain fire to cover their songs and fully do it justice. From what I've seen of these tributes of Patti and Chaka, so far in my opinion 2 that have killed it with beautiful tone and range combined is Faith Evans and Ledisi. All while still sounding original. When it came to all others tributing them, if they had the range definitely fell short in tone. The tribute to Stephanie Mills was great. Should've been slightly longer. Anita's was brilliant and someone put lots of thought into who was covering her songs
