Amazing! This was her comeback performance after those few difficult years-she KNOCKED IT OUT of the park! I am STILL blown away by this performance, and when my soul needs to fly, I come back here to see it:) She sang to God, and was SO real from her heart...it was so beautiful that it left everybody KNOWING that she's incredibly talented AND BLESSED and she's NOT ever going ANYWHERE but up! Somebody indeed laid hands on her and prayed...and it seems that God surely listened. God bless Mariah:)

they should have given her a grammy for the best gospel song, because fly like a bird was the best gospel song in the years 2005-2006. It was one of the few gospel songs that actually got some radio spins at its time. people who like this song may also like My Saving Grace and I wish you well (from her)

It was this performance that turned me in to an MC fan. I remember watching this Grammy's night...I had heard in the news about Mariah Carey's "big comeback". To be honest at the time I knew she was like a big artist I guess lol (judging by many singers today sighting her as an influence), but I didn't know she was huge to that scale. I watched this and was utterly moved...and the next day bought The Emancipation of Mimi. As well as the rest of her album catalogue XDDDD. Hardcore fan since!

I have admired her from the start. It is almost impossible for anybody to have more deserved and succesfull career as a singer globally. She was liked everywhere from the start and still is. That's actually a big compliment to her. If her voice is in bad shape and people think she is lip synching... But you're right, this is 100% live. Even that last note at the end which she usually lips was live.

for people doubting if she is lipsynching, try to listen to the studio version then try and listen to this "live" performance. During high notes is where the the lipsynching happens...listen very carefully to this live perf and the studio version, there isnt a note of difference between the high note parts of the live and studio, but when you check out the low note parts between the studio and live perf, there's a difference. Anyone can say she lipsynchs the high parts if you would just listen..
