Mariah won $ 1 million in 2002 for singing just 3 songs at this showcase (Through the Rain; I Only Wanted and My All) and performing at the New Year's show, (Show da Virada da Rede Globo). It was amazing to see her in person, she was very beautiful and friendly to everyone, and she sang several snippets of songs live that day, but I confess it was disappointing that she didn't sing the songs TTR, IOW and MA live.

Her eyes give it away. When she sings live she usually closes them and doesn't look up and smile a lot. She smiles when she's done singing. Her throat gives it away, too.

Epoca em que a Mariah estava linda, uma verdadeira Diva e com uma voz espetacular. Não me conformo ela ter vindo ao Brasil apenas para cantar nesse showcase do Fantástico, ter cantado apenas 3 músicas e ter dublado todas… E olha que ela ganhou 1 milhão na época para fazer isso, imagina 1 milhão em 2002

Yes, it's lipped, but you guys have to understand that in Brazilian TV programs it's very likely that singers are going to perform this way. I don't know why, though I think it's sth decided by the program directors...

Foi estranho na época, pois ela havia ganho um cachê de 1 milhão de dólares (isso em 2002) para fazer este showcase e se apresentar no show da virada e não poderia ir em nenhum programa de outras emissoras…. Ela estava com toda a banda, penso que o ideal teria sido ser ao vivo, até pq nessa época a voz dela estava excelente!!! Teria sido incrível termos essas 3 músicas live! “I Only Wanted” só foi cantada perfumada 2 vezes, está no fantástico e uma realmente live no programa “The View”

mariah rearly lipsyncs, and sometimes it is so hard to tell if she is lipping or not. i went to see her live a few years back, the one song that she normally always lip syncs is fantasy (remix) and she lip synced on that. But she is an amazing live singer, if not the best.

Believe me, it's a tradition here in Brazil when singers sing in TV programs. I can't stand it, but that is the way it is...

Não é verdade! Foram playback, o que aconteceu foi que no dia ela cantou vários trechos de outras músicas dela ao vivo, tipo make it happen, fantasy, i still believe, etc…
