with regards to her singing with so much "powderyness", she's rapping here. Imagine how abrasive and aggressive this otherwise dreamy song would sound with full voice? Its beautiful and she blesses us with one of her highest belts ever "recorded" at the end. when Mariah sings soft like this, you have to listen to her lyrics, its why she pulls back all the extra singing she does. Because when you're not distracted by acrobatics, you get to understand what she's saying and how she wants to get her message across, and you feel her emotions.

Because of her nodules she has moments where her voice produces two different notes at the same time, it’s called Polyphonic or Overtone singing 👍 it’s not present in the songs or videos you have reacted to but there’s several instances where she had done it live and on studio. 01:50 not a recording. As you were just saying, she has two voices, the head and chest. The whisper and the belting or yelling, forceful voice. If you listen to the recording, she says “I really think I….” all in whisper voice. In this concert she improvised a lot and it’s great!
