I tried to explain to people that she is The Picasso of singing. Unfortunately not many people have the ears to appreciate what she can create with her voice… in this one song she uses: runs, whisper register , nasal middle range, constant dynamics changes, open throat upper belts, nasal upper belts, downward runs all created to form emotive art that only people with musical ears can really appreciate. 😊

I know she doesn't claim it, but that crystal clear space in her upper chest (belting) voice has an ethereal, operatic tone that is just to die for. The coloratura of Mariah's voice is something the angels would envy.

Her voice is such a wonder... It has this full, deep sound to it but when she goes higher it becomes so bright and free... Also when she speaks she sounds like a man, but when she sings she would sound like very feminine or girly. 😄

@@marishkagranada7985 it’s because she is actually an Alto , she herself said so…she have taught her self to belt in soprano range. People thinks she is a soprano because they don’t listen to her speaking voice. As she gets older her belting range is now lower and her speaking voice is even lower now. Also she used whisper register/ falsetto a lot, which is usually associated more with male voices/ alto female voices to reach higher notes. That’s a given in this song too

@@jphuwae4505 shes not an alto, thats for sure, shes a lyric coloratura soprano (even tho the opera experts dont agree putting that classification for her), the thing is she has a very abnormal voice that makes her range extremely wide, but her tone is the brightest most of the times, altos are not as versatiles as her…we are talking about a very abnormal voice so even soprano is not enough to clasify her but alto is a nop
