I agree wholeheartedly. I think Marian is truly phenomenal. And it's such a pity when after a beautiful routine, a small step or hop can cost you the gold medal. I've seen many great gymnasts at the Olympic Games, but Dragulescu will forever be the epitome of beautiful gymnastics for me. God bless him! The scoring in Beijing has been quite biased anyway (except swimming - true champion there), so I think the majority of the gymnasts were unfairly treated by the judges. But such is life.

Marian has one more event to go... vault. He competes in less than 5 hours from now. I just pray that he does what he is capable of doing cause vault is truly his event!

@jllsjlls All men of the podium performed at least one "Dragulescu" vault. Each one of them - and I guess that says everything!

It's different for the men, they can have the same direction onto the horse (RO-half on vault + Front handspring or Yamashita vault; or Yurchenko + Tsukahara) for two different vaults, whereas the women they have to have two different entry positions coming onto the vault: Tsuk + FHS/Yami/Omelianchik or Yurchenko + FHS/Yami and NOT Tsuk + Yurchenko or FHS + Omelianchik entry

His second vault has always been his weakness, but I cannot believe the man did a Yurchenko 2 1/2 after such a tentative run. That shouldn't even be possible. The vault was damned good as is, but imagine how much better he could have performed with a more aggressive run. Wow.

Yes. Barani is 1/2 twist, Rudi (1 1/2), and Randi(2 1/2).

Men aren't on a ten scale anymore, so they are pushed to do harder, longer routines, so a ten is much harder to achieve... Also, nice use of 'seems.'
