Mid 60s. What an splendid era in pop history. While male pop bands such as Beatles, Rolling Stones etc were dominating the music scene, Ms Faithfull along withh a bevy of British female singers were hitting the 'top of the pops' with their gorgeous voices n styles. Remember Petula Clark, Cilla Black, Sandie Shaw, Lulu, Anita Harris? Not forgetting supermodel Twiggy influencing teenage girls with mini skirts n mod fashion all over the world. What a terrific time for youths including me in SEAsia. I raise a glass of good cheer to Marianne Faithfull.

Marianne recorded this when she was very young. I think it was her first recording aged 17. It was nice but a bit twee. She later rerecorded it for the 1987 album "Strange Weather" when she was 41. This is a song about regret and longing. It's more suitable for a 41 than a 17 year old. Her 41 year version is tops.

This great song was written by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Rolling Stones' manager Andrew Loog Oldham. It is a beautiful, forlorn tune.

I was born a few months before this song came out -- and I wonder how many times my mother played it (maybe not so much for me but herself) -- and this is one of the few songs that I can listen to on repeat and never get tired of listening to it -- it seems to speak to me on a spiritual level or something...

Excellent cover of the Rolling Stones classic. With period mixing and a full orchestra, Mrs. Faithful just nails it here. Hauntingly beautiful.
