Marianne Faithful has that sort of voice that as soon as I hear it, it brings me comfort and It makes me feel settled. You can hear in her voice, whether she sings or talks, that she pours her emotions into the piece of art it is that she is creating. It’s as if you are not alone.

There's ton I could recommend if you like Warren's music, not just Marianne's voice, but for now I could direct you to a radio show like Calm Roots on NTS, as one example / www.nts.live/shows/calm-roots

Warren worked together with Nick Cave (the Piano Player who is also singer of the band "Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) on various albums since the 90s, and the latest three are in this manner, verry beautiful and calm. The first, "Push The Sky Away" is the most vivid and rocky of them, with guitars and everything but also calm ambient pieces. After the death of Nick Caves son, they released "Skeleton Tree". It has the sound of this song, but is much more darker most of the times, although there are some love and hope songs at the end. Warren does his job verry well on that record. The newest one, "Ghosteen", is the most beautiful and calm and lovely album I have ever heard. Really. Nothing comes close. They didn't use any drums, just Warrens layers of charming sounds, choirs, orchestra parts and ambient noises. It is the sequel to "Skeleton Tree", and Nick Cave seems to talk directly to his son and his family through the lyrics. Other Bands and albums that helped me calming down: -Cocteau Twins. great but strange band. Try "Victorialand" and "Heaven Or Las Vegas". -Dead Can Dance. They started as a darkwave band (maybe you like that), and released really great dark and medieval-oriental-gothic-oriented albums, and are currently touching world music. The male singer sings english most of the times, the female (with the greatest voice ever) sings in an own invented language. They have very dark and somber albums, real gothic masterpieces, but also some very beautiful. Begin with "The Serpent's Egg" and take a listen to "Spiritchaser". "Anastasis" is the most "poppy" of their albums, also great. If you like that, the other albums won't disappoint you. But they aren't anyones cup of tea. -Kate Bushs newest albums, "AERIAL" and "50 Words For Snow". Great, simply as that. The later one is so wintery it feels like a walk through a snowstorm. And Elton John sings on the record!!! Can't get any better -Julee Cruise - Floating Into the Night -Joanna Newsoms whole discography isn't that large (yet), but every song is so good and satisfyningly simple and complex at the same time. She plays harp and piano and sings. Her voice is quite bizarre, but I like it. Maybe that helps you

For the lady with schizophrenia- I too have an illness, not yours but related- I rely on music, and especially Marianne Faithfull's for sustenance, joy, respite for and from my rage at what seems unfair- not just my mental health, all the quandaries- if that's a proper word! Marianne is SO much more eloquent - the album should have won a Grammy ( not that I dig "awards") I dont- but her industry is commercial and does and she has been too often "written" off... Marianne would take your hand and walk with you- I suspect if you bought this album, you are a fan of her's or is Warren Ellis the main musical genius? May I recommend on "those" days, her very early folk albums- I never, ever tire of them, for me they are always "new and fresh" like morning dew. Corny but true- I wish you the best. Take your medicine, nasty side-effects and all- my partner was a psychiatric nurse and as I said, I am ill too and like Marianne have "bad habits"! You can email me- I CAN LISTEN TOO! And I am empathetic- who else do you listen too, do you have a job, are you artistic- a broken brain doesn't mean a broken soul- big hug, from Canada- Namaste ( If you like to read, to divert your thoughts, I have a list of books recommended by Marianne- various topics, fiction and non fiction and I listen to Neil Gaiman's "young adult" audio books- The Ocean at the End of the Lane and my personal fav for sheer escapism, Neverwhere- they might even be free on KZbin)

Hi again, thank you for your message ! I am a big fan of Marianne's discography, I love every album in their own way. I don't know much about Warren Ellis, I know he works with Nick Cave but I rarely listen to men singing (maybe except for David Bowie and Frank Ocean). I am creative, I write poetry and children's stories, mostly for myself and a few friends. It does me good and it's something I take great pride in and take very seriously. It's the only thing that keeps me going. If I were to disappear, I could never write again and I don't want that. As for meds... i know it's bad but i've stopped taking them, too much nasty side effects as you said. It ain't living, I couldn't take it anymore. It's not the first time i stopped taking them and I've accomplished stuff without. We'll see what happens, it's a bargain I know. anyway tmi ! I hope I didn't overshare !! Wait... Marianne made a list of books to read??!!! What is it? Would you mind telling me where to find it? Thank you for your kind words, I hope your health is good despite your illness. We'll get through this Love from France.

Growing up, Jane was always the shy one in school. She was never one to speak up or stand out, and for that reason, she became an easy target for bullies. Every day, she would dread going to school, knowing that she would be teased and tormented by the same group of kids who had been picking on her for years. It started with small things, like name-calling and teasing, but it quickly escalated to physical bullying. Jane would come home from school with bruises and cuts, but she was too afraid to tell anyone what was happening. She didn't want to be seen as a tattletale or a weakling. As the years went on, the bullying became more and more intense. Jane felt like she had no escape. She couldn't concentrate in class, she couldn't make friends, and she couldn't even enjoy the things she used to love doing. She felt like she was trapped in a nightmare that would never end. But one day, something changed. Jane's parents noticed that she had been acting differently lately, and they finally convinced her to open up about what was happening at school. They were shocked and horrified to hear about the extent of the bullying, and they immediately took action. They talked to the school administration, who took the bullying seriously and made changes to ensure that Jane and other students would be safe from harm. They also got Jane the help she needed to cope with the trauma she had experienced. It wasn't an easy road, but with the support of her family and the school, Jane was able to overcome the bullying and start to heal. She eventually found her voice and began to stand up for herself, and she even became an advocate for other bullied students. In the end, Jane realized that she wasn't weak or powerless. She was strong and resilient, and she had the power to make a difference in her own life and in the lives of others. And that was something that no amount of bullying could ever take away from her.
