Well I understand that President Desmond is the antagonist here, but there are some truth behind his words. While peace is good it is sometimes not a permanent solution. If one were to live happily there are others that are not so unfortunate to have that kind of happy life. While there are small forms of peace, there are still some flaws or gaps in between. Discrimination, hardships, resources and other problems. Conflicts tend to happen by those are stuck at the short end of the stick and thus those who are poor, unfortunate or cast out take their frustration and dissatisfaction on others, resulting in wars. Indeed peace is a good solution where everyone can be happy, but due to some shortcomings, flaws and hurdles mankind are facing, short-term peace is the only way we have and why that sometimes war tends to happen when longing peace cannot be possible However, war is peace is not the only nor proper solution and war cannot always the answer. Conflicts exists to remind that the world is not perfect. To tell us that we need work even harder and smarter. For the world is too peaceful, it'll be bland and boring. So does with war, life would be destroyed. One cannot exist without the other. Like two sides of a coin, yin yang, balance of harmony and chaos. Peace is indeed achievable if humanity can work together to understand one another, unite to overcome any hurdles, then that peace can come true and there will be less unnecessary bloodshed and few lives can be spared.
