Aloha, I'm in hawaii. Stapelia or start fish cactus is free from the valley. They grow wild fast and very easy to grow. So many here and become wild plants everywhere. Cause I'm cactus lovers thats way I plant it in my garden. Now the cactus grow everywhere. My fertilizer is easy and not expensive is my organic home made. And I mixed it with the soil once a month. So easy and happy with the cactus with very low maintenance. They blooming in march and july so beautiful flowers..Thanks for share. Mahalo🙏❤

Do you water Stapelia when they are just on the border between dry and humid, or are you waiting for an extra day or two after that? And do you water with a lesser amount when they are at that stage and then water more often since since use up the water faster then - or is it better to water so the water goes through the soil and then make sure to remove extra water so the roots do not rott? Also in it's sappling stage (after growing roots) - do you keep the soil moist for the first few weeks, or should it still dry up between waterings before adding more water?

Mishiara Hi mishiara stapelias are very easy the can take full sun the love the heat water ones and don’t water until the totality dry about every ten. Days,one more thing when they get about three to four yes the need to be separated and repotted otherwise they started looking dry and they grow some white scale in the plants I don’t know why bu this happens but all you need to do separate the plant and restarted and is ok ,ok now if the next question is about new cutting after the root you need to keep about two inches in the top of the soil wet only not more than that for about for weeks after that you ca water until the water comes out the bottom of the pot thank you Maria’s garden

does stapellia need to be in full sun? And do you water it like a cactus, about 1-2 times a month during summer and once a month during winter? My 2 plants are outdoors and then come inside during winter. That seems to keep them happy. Thank you for the great video.

Hi there! I've just discovered your channel and for some reason I oved the way you are showing stuff. Just want to make sure I understood what you said, after cutting, I should let my stapelia cuttings to rest for one week, then plant them on the soil and not water for another week. Hello Marlene, Maria’s daughter here- I will ask her tomorrow. From the little I do know you should not just repot a sick plant. Very likely you will have to dry it out then new custom mix soil depending on the environment. Talk tmrw

Susan V very easy from cuttings you cut a strong pcs from a mature plant and let dry for at least ten days then planted in dry soil and don’t watered for a week then put out side if dose not rain water lightly please . please use good soil like cactus soil and some good fertilizer like 14 -14-14 or 14 -4-14 or any high in nitrogen thank you Maria’s garden
