they were cousin, Marie Antoinette grandmother was Princess of Orleans direct descendants from Louis XIV's brother duke of orleans. and they were related several times, since Louis XIV mother was habsburg and he later married another habsburg.

@jorgeamdv I actually thought she was playing, in that part, a very young and a very surprised at what she sees Marie-Antoinette. When she was young , the whole French court was saying that Marie-Antoinette wasn't regal enough: she liked playing, having fun, pretending she was a farm girl and so on. Just an opinion, though, I'm a special neither of that historical period nor of the way Kristen Dunst acts.

@blip39 Well, I guess they wouldn't have British accents since they are French. I think the American accents, along with the modern music, are supposed to break everything up and give it a modern, edgy feel that's more relatable for modern audiences.

@00PhsycoticLiamb00 You're right. Antoinette was an irresponsible Queen who didn't do her duties, didn't reach out to the people, so she ended up alienating both sets of poeple who could have ketp her on her throne and kept her head. The only part of France she bothered ot see was the Opera.

There were some really scary faces in the crowd which Marie Antoinette walked through. Some of those faces already looked dead. Imagine having to smile graciously at walking corpses.

"I will never forgt that you were responsible for my happiness. And that of France" To bad that "happiness" got her killed and her family as for many other french aristocrats putting the country into turmoil. OHH well good movie tought.

kirsten dunst's totally american accent kind of makes it less believable..isn't she supposed to sound german?
@santeriabanks29302 жыл бұрын
I disagree! If it would have turned out the way then, you wouldn't be able to understand what she was saying. So, in this movie with Kirsten, they wanted to cater to English speaking audiences. I imagined that they wanted to modernize it a bit.

It is so sad to see such and insignificant actress (Kristen Dunst) attempting to play such a regal role such as Marie Antoinette. She just can't. Now, the version played by Norma Shear is timeless and eternal. Kristen Dunst is too pedestrian and not convincing at all playing a regal role.
@leelohaskin79412 жыл бұрын
tell us how you really feel, a**hole, I guess you would know something about being insignificant wouldn't you?🙄
@santeriabanks29302 жыл бұрын
You are entitled to your own opinion, but I happens to think the opposite. The director wanted to focus on Marie more in the time of her youth in which, she was a fourteen year old bride and Kirsten gave them just that. You're too focused on who's playing the role instead of the actual portrayal of Marie's character. Kirsten is an actress of future tense while Ms. Shear is from past years. You can't compare them and it seems like that is what you are based your decision on. Be sure to look at it from a different perspective instead of a one sided view.
