Incidentally, this is Beatrice's aria-finale (with the pertichini cut) from Bondelmonte (Florence, June 1845).

On comprend mieux pourquoi Pacini est peu chanté, car ici, c'est une aria extrêmement périlleuse, à cheval sur le lyrique et le bel canto qui demande des moyens vocaux énormes... Encore une fois, Mariella Devia crée la surprise par son incroyable maîtrise technique. J'adore

orfeus80: The entire libretto with English translation is on the Giovanni Pacini fan site, on the libretto page. At some point I'll get around to uploading the score, too. It's a thrilling opera, and it desperately needs a revival (last performed in 1885). This performance was from Modena, November 15 1984. PS - Pacini only wrote about 75 operas, not 90.
