Grandissima classe! Poi la zampata finale impreziosisce una interpretazione da REGINA. La Regina delle regine. Queen Assoluta. ❤

2:05 the sonic originality of this moment is miraculous: voice alone with the oboe, both suspended in the air for interminable seconds.

Ricordate...questo tipo di canto non sara' piu' possibile!...i cantanti di oggi non sanno piu' cosa e' la tecnica e lo studio, lo stile. Chi considera Mariella Devia una cantante fredda ..illusi!

Fantastic voice... but there are 3 tempos here. There's the tempo Minkowski would really like to take this, then there's the compromise tempo he starts out at, then there's the tempo that Devia sings and she will NOT be budged! Every time the orchestra comes in faster, like 2:23 she eventually drags them back with her semiquavers. It's amusing, battle of the wills between conductor and singer!

Tres bonne interpretation de Marielle Devia. Est-ce que quelqu'un a la version d'Annick Massis où la fin de l'air est différement interpreté?

I enjoyed this but given the amount of time she spends following the score, it appears she didn't know this piece very well.

As if it were easy😆

@@angelabender8132 What I meant was, if you are used to singing a lot of Handel, or any composer for that matter, you get used to their style and it may not be easy to sing but it is easier to memorize.

@@edwardguillen8840 If you are young.. But Devia has been singing well into older age, when the memory is a glory of the past 😊

@@angelabender8132 I respectfully disagree; look at Domingo, learning a whole new repertoire at his age. Also, Olivero and Nathalie Stutzmann, who is still singing and conducting. In Ms. Devia's case I just think she didn't sing much baroque repertoire so wasn't used to its patterns. I say that, not really knowing much about her career. I thought she sang more of the Rossini, Bellini and Donizettti operas. Of course, again, just my opinion.

They don't look committed, they look ridiculous. Their awful and tense face expressions ruin the music interpretation completely, and their voices also. Devia sings like all singers were supposed to sing: naturally.
