Great video 📹 👍, probably 3 time I've watched it. I wanted to ask you about the 2 silver dollars you purchased. Did you research them, how much are they worth 🤔? Did you make a good decision or what?

It's smoking hot in Siem Reap. I did not know about Kullen Mountain. I will have to go up there next time.

Really glad you got into contact with some locals who went on an adventure with you. Both the temple and the waterfall looked amazing! We were only in the tourist traps and I would have loved to see something like this. It was way too hot for us, however. You seem to do fine though :)
@Edgesofearth6 жыл бұрын
- Totally. That is my mission during my travels and with this channel - to connect with locals around the world and share my experience. Seems like a cool way to give people some insight on what kind of personality the people of the world have 😇 Yeahhhh...tourist traps 🤮. I try to avoid them. I avoided Angkor Wat, entirely haha. I will if something is REALLY interesting and then I will dodge as many hustlers as possible lol. It was a cool place. I would have loved to explore more. But, I was traveling with the locals on their time schedule - so I didn't want to request to stay longer - and also, it took more than 2 hours to get there..(and 2 more to return), so it was a LONG day lol. The heat was very little on this mountain. I wasn't very hot. When we returned to the bottom, it was super hot again ☀️
@MiroAcronymity6 жыл бұрын
We visited Angkor Wat super early for the sunrise and it was already full of tourists. Almost cannot walk full. We booked a tuk tuk driver who drove us from temple to temple, otherwise it would have been unbearable. Since you mentioned it: There were a lot of beggars in Phnomh Penh. None in Siem Reap. Still, I would love to see Cambodia again. Also some of the neighboring countries! We are both very bad with heat though so it is not a destination at the top of our list.

@@Edgesofearth when I stayed in Cambodia I've learned from cousins and nephew's there that they grow up respecting people maybe that's the reason why they don't beg but I could be wrong. when the kids get ready to leave for school they stand at the door with there hands together and say farewell to each and everyone in the house before leaving, same exact way when they come home stand at the door with hands together and greet them before coming into the house. Also I've learned most people rather sale you things or work for you than beg same goes with kids even at the age of 6yrs.

Those coins have to be fake because I saw some of the same year elsewhere. Right before you said the year, I said it out loud to myself and boom, 1885. No matter what, still a cool token
@MikeMcFly11116 жыл бұрын
1881-1885 Silverdollars are so cheap even in the states, is probably real. i used to buy them cheap in the states and sell them in germany. of course they can still be fake. update: Currently your 1885 Morgan silver dollar value is $18.00 . However this is just a minimum value representing how much a circulated-worn 1885 dollar is worth.

When I was there, I was told that beggars are organized by some gangs, or the local called it “big brothers”, a casual term for gangs or an organized group. That is why people told you not to give money. So these kids or people get paid by a small portions of their totaled begged money at the end of the day. That’s what I heard.
@Edgesofearth5 жыл бұрын
- i have also heard the same. it's sad because there are many who are not part of the game and truely do need help..

I went to that mountain years ago, just to pray to that statue and monks and the worst experience for me was the beggars, just walking by them having them ALL watch you and some of them with deformities ask you for money. Remember the fact you walk past them to get inside and walk past them again when you walk out

Those coins, if real, are definitely worth more than $10. I would guess probably at least $15 for each one. Maybe even more depending on if they are super rare. I have seen silver dollar coins sell for as much as $50 to $100.

- Yeah. That's why I bought them. I have did my fair share of research in the past. My father has like a million old coins. I thought I would have a gamble 🙂

Those are fakes for sure , was checking scams in Cambodia before I visited just to stay alert .. and another dude posted an exact same video with the same found an year back in the trail story ... It's real silver but fake coins .. I know cause now I'm in Cambodia and all the souvenir shops have them ... I don't think you lost any money on it though cause together they way an ounce that costs about 14 USD currently ... Type coin scam Cambodia on KZbin , itll be mad deja vu

hi! I enjoyed your videos! your coins are Chinese fake for sure! it is very easy to find same coins or other ones on any market of phnom penh or sihanoukville for price much more cheaper. but anyway the coins could be nice souvenirs for your friends! good luck!
@Edgesofearth6 жыл бұрын
- Ohh dang. I didn't know there was a market for counterfeit old coins. Crazy! Maybe I got screwed. Strange, if you listen to the video, you can hear me clicking the coins together. It has a classic silver sound. Had that not been there, I would have never purchased them. The sound would have screamed 'counterfeit'. Keep your eyes out for future vids. I will let everyone know in the future 💪🏽
