What great bands like Genesis, Yes, Tull, Camel and Marillion have in common is a great sense of harmony, melody and dynamics - lacking in so much of today's progressive rock. Today's players might have better chops - but they certainly do not write better tunes, and that's something all those great 70s could all do.
