@@carlmanning6738 Sorry, for my words. But I hate to see people worshipping humans. We should never stand before a stage and glorify human. The whole music business is wicked, just like Hollywood. And it hurts really deep to see that some christians fall for it and actually like this stuff.

Manson has such an interesting place in music. Art is a reflection of life, and let's face it, it isn't always pretty. I have never thought that Manson's music was really glorifying some of the sometimes (or often) unpleasant subject matter of the songs themselves. There are some ugly things, but that are always presented in a very honest way. He always has a great band.

The original recording is from 1947 by The Jubalaries kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmW6gKyilsmVmaM Before Johnny Cash. The song is a traditional folk song even older than that recording. It was originally titled "Run On" or "Run On For A Long Time" As "Run On", it was recorded, by Odetta, among others, by Elvis Presley. The song has also been covered by many other artists. A version by Bill Landford & The Landfordairs from 1949

I’m a Christian, but regardless of your religious beliefs & how you view God, this version of the song bloody slaps! @@bigfoot3270 Manson doesn't seem big on auto tune or many other ways of voice altering. This cover was also recorded quite some time before his voice finally succumbed to his many years of screaming. And if I'm being perfectly honest I'd rather listen to him on his worst day than 95% of artists today on their best days. At least he's real and he sings from an emotional place and out of passion.

Note: The song comes from '46. Redo's started in '47. It originally says "he put one head apon my head, good god almighty let me tell you what he said" Johnny was the first one, I think, to have change it to "Johnny do my will" to fit his needs. But I love Johnny's version the best. Gaslight Anthem does a good version too... Odetta & Elvis were my least favs I think...

@@Cheeselord83 I hope you don't mean that trap and rap bs, or new country or.. oh God's pop D: . Why the fuck I ever thought rap and pop were the best thing since sliced bread when I was younger, I have no clue lmao If you're talking about Metal, yeah you have Dio, Dickinson, Halford, Danny Filth, and many other vocalists that can/could hit amazing ranges. The thing about Manson though: He has a GREAT vocal range E1 - B5, and he's maintained his voice, for the most part, through 25+ years of screaming, screeching, waling and singing - something Glenn Danzig (and others) certainly has not been able to accomplish (Have you heard the Black Laden Crown album? His career is shot). Also, it's not all about the vocals with Manson; he's very creative and EVERY album sounds different and brings new things to the table, and that is also something many artists, within Metal and out, have a hard time not only doing, but doing correctly. Not trying to preach or anything lol Also as a side note, I hate how fucking normie un-metal poseurs try to use Manson as a ticket to edgedom, when you have real diehard fans like myself that actually know his music, have read his book and watched hours of interview footage and eagerly await every new release. Just saying lol

@@hwfq34fajw9foiffawdiufhuaiwfhw The truth doesn't need to be funny. This is like if I were to do a tribute to Johnny Cash at my house. I should have loyal enough friends to prevent me from ever making that monstrosity public. Apparently Marilyn doesn't have those kind of friends.
