I had the biggest crush on Florence Larue. She is a queen!!!! as far as I'm concerned. The fifth dimension they were a black vocal group. But they were more of a pop group than any other genre

This is an excellent interview. This journalist asked really well thought out questions. Usually, it’s the same old recycled ideas.

"Living Together, Growing Together" was a dreadful song --and it was bad for the group. They had had two top ten hits on their previous album ("Last Night I Didn't Get to Sleep" and "If I Could Reach You"). If the label had released "Day By Day," or even "Ashes to Ashes" first, they would have had a better shot at another hit. Instead, "Living Together" (one of the worst songs Burt Bacharach ever wrote) bombed on the charts, and it isn't much of a song either. The album should have been called Day by Day: it's a brilliant version by the 5th. Also, because "Living Together" did so poorly, it dragged down Marilyn's beautiful solo on "Everything's Been Changed." A bad time for the 5th, as they never topped the charts again. Very poor management for a group that deserved so much better.

Have to agree but the group were arm-twisted by Bell Records' owner Columbia Pictures (that released "Lost Horizon" which contained "Living Together...") to record the song to promote the film. "Ashes To Ashes" - composed by Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter (a very hot writing /production team at the time - see the Four Tops and Grass Roots) would have been a much better choice for first single (it was the follow up to "Living....:)

The split uo happened a few years later , best choice for McCoo and Davis. Ron and Flo extremely talented, recess just time and circumstances.
