#Marinhonda is one of the most beautiful #Japanesefigureskaters. She is #Juniorworldchampion2016 and she won silver in the following year, right behind the then Olympic Champion Alina Zagitova. Unfortunately her senior debut had not been going smoothly. Puberty perhaps? Basically her inconsistent jumps had caused her most of the international competitions representation opportunities. However, that doesn't take away any beautiful moves from her. She is always fun to watch. For figure skating fans, you will notice her distinguishable deep outside edge and you will love it. She really should have gotten more credits for such deep edges and fluid movements on the ice. She is a sweetheart on ice!

Marin is such a beautiful skater. She has the skating skills, charisma, and star quality in my opinion. Unfortunately her jumps seem to left her after she won the Junior Worlds. It's a shame really, even when she performed sub-clean last season her pcs did not really reflect the performance she gave.

Yes really! Marin's skating skill is superb! We always love her landing and deep edges.. It's really sad that because of the jumps, she couldn't reach where she deserves to be. We are still rooting for her though..

I love Marin. As long as she doesn't skate too bad, no other skater gives me as much satisfaction as she does. Watching Marin is therapy. About her under-rotations, I think she should just develop more leg strength. Marin developed very slowly (her sister Miyu grew faster than her). She grew slowly but did not accompany her weight gain with corrective measures. One day her (elegant) overweight took her by surprise. As a child Marin learned to jump by watching and imitating, without rationally understanding the mechanics. When she had to correct her jumping due to growth, she had to learn to jump consciously, and that is very difficult. Then there are psychological factors. Marin has no goals because she already lives in her goals: she is happy. Everyone loves her, she has more fans than the best skaters. Even if she loses, sponsors continue to sponsor her and she sells advertising. Because of her grace and beauty, she makes money just by breathing. As an athlete Marin has a big flaw: she is not competitive: she is too sweet and kind, she doesn't need to beat others. She is also not the ungraceful or lonely girl who wants, at least, to shine on the ice. Nor does she live in a country where the gold medal purse is an inordinate fortune. In addition, Marin is very sociable and this takes her away from the routine of training. Marin was only able to reach peak performance while she was a child subject to her parents' discipline. I hope that now, as an adult, she will be able to control herself enough to achieve her sporting redemption before retiring. Prediction: after she retires, Marin will skate much better.

Very nice analysis!! Yes yes I definitely feel that way as well. Marin Honda is already famous even before her success in figure skating, so motivation is really the biggest issue for her.. I do like her skating style the most out of all women skaters. Her edges are so deep and her skating are so smooth!! Just hope she will stay active in the skating scenes..
