You shouldn't measure success by how popular you are.. I'm glad marina doesn't do that. it's a materialistic idea, she has to exist this way, she's saving people and she feels more relatable, real and approachable at this level. Mainstream fame is dangerous for the soul and life.

She is so intellectual, I've never been in love with someones mind as much as hers. The way she writes music is absolutely mind blowing. Her voice is incomparable and haunting, she is art. It gave me hope knowing that she didn't start writing music till 19-20, makes me feel like its not to late to follow my dreams. Also It's exciting to know that the thing that makes us different can help us succeed the most in life! I'm referring to her Colour Synesthesia.

That's so cool that she has synesthesia. I've always connected colors with songs, though, and nothing else. It's not really based on the content of the songs, either. Sad songs aren't "blue" or "black", although some things are what you'd think they'd be. Immediately when I hear the first few notes of a song, I'll think "that's green" or "that's a very dark blue". I asked people about it and no one else I knew did it or understood what I was talking about. This was way back in 2007 and I still do it. Even songs that I "colored" back then still have the same color today, so it's not like they change or anything. I should sit down and write out common characteristics that songs of the same color have and see if I can pinpoint why they got whatever color I assigned them. Her song Solitaire is actually one of the only songs that I like that has a yellow/gold label. Gold (the song) is orange. Savages is a dark green. Blue is a very very very pale blue. I'm a Ruin is deep purple. Forget is red. I can't think of Froot as anything other than a combo of colors because of the way it's written on the album cover. Can't Pin Me Down is orange. Weeds is silver. Immortal is black. Happy is dark dark dark blue. Better Than That is a bile green (sort of yellow) color. I've got no idea WHY they're those colors though. Some of them don't match their colors if you think about what the colors normally mean, like blue means sad or red means angry. Some of them do match, like Immortal being black, since that song is pretty depressing.

I cant believe how beautifull she is, so classy, so much style. i dont know, i think she is not one but THE most gorgeous woman in pop music in this era. It is kinda sad that she dont have the enough recognition she deserves. Cause her music and lyrics are in another level, you can tell how pure, raw and personal she is whith her work and thats amazing, not really common this days and thats why she is so interesting. Every artist once they go mainstream usually loose that special thing that make them unique. And she is, very, very unique. (Sorry for my english)

I think marina being a solo artist is a key factor to her success because no one sees artists that come up with their own music a lot anymore. Pop music now these days are always the artist just performing "their song" when really it's hardly even their song to begin with because other people come up with lyrics and melodies. The artists are there to sing and perform those lyrics and melodies for entertainment. Marina has had other people come up with lyrics for her songs before like in the Electra Heart Album but mainly she has come up with them on her own. Each year it gets more uncommon for artist to write their own lyrics and melodies to the point to where it is now becoming a trait of uniqueness. Marina has said that a lot of the times melodies are presented to her but at least she writes the lyrics for the most part. I like the way she went about with her career and I hope she sticks with it. If she does then each year she will become more and more unique in the music world. She once said that people are thirsty for good music and I always think to myself that if that is what the music world has come to. It seems like people don't realize where the music is actually coming from most of the time with pop artists... other people than the artist. That is one of the many reasons why Marina is my favourite artist by far. Because I know that her music comes from her and her heart.
