ΚΑΛΛΙΤΕΧΝΙΚΟ ΠΑΤΙΝΑΖ. Marina Viatcheslavovna Anissina (Russian: Марина Вячеславовна Анисина, born August 30, 1975 in Moscow, Russian SSR) is a French-Russian ice dancer. With partner Gwendal Peizerat, she is the 2002 Olympic champion. On February 23, 2008, Anissina married Russian actor Nikita Dzhigurda in Moscow after the two met when they were partnered on a celebrity ice dancing television show. On January 7, 2009 the couple welcomed a son, Mik-Angel Krist (in Russian: Мик-Анжель Крист). In May 2009, Dzhigurda confirmed that they are expecting a second child.
Gwendal Peizerat (born April 21, 1972 in Bron, France) is a French ice dancer. With Marina Anissina, he is the 2002 Olympic champion and 1998 Olympic bronze medalist. The association of the two different cultures with different styles of skating was positive. The pair placed 3rd at 1998 Olympic Games and, in 2000, they won gold medals at the European and World Championships.
In 2002, Marina Anissina and Gwendal Peizerat became the first French Olympic Champions in ice dancing. They also won the gold medal at the European Championships that year.
After winning the Olympic gold medal they finished their amateur skating career, turned pro and appear in shows now.

People always commented about Marina holding Gwendal up; but what fewer people commented about were Gwendal's incredible skating skills: his fantastic edges and deep knees gave them the power to create such great speed almost effortlessly, plus he was a superb partner to Marina (even though she got most of the 'attention' as the "diva", she could not achieved such outstanding programs without Gwendal -- some of his jumps and landing on knees -- choreographed by Christopher Dean, in later programs, were just brilliant!); plus he had the most beautiful lines. I think he was the stronger skater of the pair, but not many people realize that.

I've always thought he was just as good as she was. Also look at his hands and how he carefully places them on her so that he can guide everything they do. It looks completely effortless but he does it perfectly. And IMO they were a great example of the combination of the Russian and French schools of skating: she had passion and fire, and he had the quiet elegance required to balance that.

They were still sort of in development in 1998. Their compulsories were good but not exceptional (their compulsories had improved a ton by the time 2000 came around), they had far and away the best OD that year but they made multiple errors during their Jive at this competition, and their free dance looked a little tight and nervous. I still had them at least second here at this competition. They skated their free dance so much better at Worlds a few weeks later where IMO they should've clearly won. But part of their problem was that they finished (unfairly) behind Bourne & Kraatz at the 1996 Worlds. In doing so, they were 'ranked' behind them for the next couple of seasons. In 1997, the judges seemed to have given them the thumbs down on their material as they finished 5th at Worlds that year, behind Moniotte & Lavanchy and they barely held off Punsalan & Swallow. So in late 1997-early 1998, they were essentially playing catch up. But their material in 1998 was amazing and IMO, they had clearly surpassed not only Bourne & Kraatz (a vastly overrated team) but also Krylova & Ovsiannikov. K&O were good skaters but their programs often lacked the content of either A&P or G&P.

@Justforfun-ke7bg
@Justforfun-ke7bg 4 жыл бұрын
