During Marine Week in St. Louis, Mo. Marines put on a land, air and water assault demonstration on the grounds of the iconic Gateway Arch.

Marine though I am, my best friend of 30 years is a "Coastie". When we first met, we each took the obligatory jab at one another. His reply was the best: "Yeah, but while all you Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine people are off "practicing" somewhere, we Coasties are actually "doing it". (That means actually rescuing people somewhere, in case you can't guess.) I can assure you, the U.S. Coast Guard is no second line/second rate service.)

And since everyone in the reserves has another job to pay the bills and they need about half our co. to make this weekend worthwhile for everyone visiting for Marine week....yea they did pay us drill pay, which differs depending on your rank and put us up n a cheap hotel outside the city to spend the weekend in St Louis, MO w the public teaching MCMAP and fast roping in.... Trust me... I spent the same amt in gas driving up and back home to Alabama than what we got paid for the weekend...but it was still fun tho..Erah 3/24 India

Hudson, we would likely include air assaults and amphibious assaults after a series of strategic missile strikes and bombings. we would cripple their defense systems pretty quickly actually

Michael Delvalle Uuugh, OK. You keep telling yourself that. We would lose dozens of fighters and hundreds of troops the first week. And I'm not even going to get into having to put a ground invasion force to put boots on the ground, because eventually we would have to go deeper in country to make sure the chemical/nuclear sites were taken out of commission. That would be Vietnam ×3. That man has the weaponry to strike the US now and he's only going to get more technically advanced every 6 months. You ever ask yourself why we haven't gone in yet? It's like letting Mike Tyson beat the foolishness out of you and knock you out, just so you can wait until the end of the fight to shoot him.
