Marine Corps: Officer Candidate School (OCS) Graduation

First Lieutenant Lauren Walter Standring G BTRY, 3RD BN, 11TH MARINES, 1ST MARDIV, III MAF United States Marine Corp Reseda, California November 17, 1943 to July 22, 1970 Incident Date June 29, 1970) Lt Standring was the FO and was attached to Lima Company 3rd Battalion 7th Marines in the AO of the Que Son mountains. As Lima Co settled into their night position Lt Standring tripped a booby trap directly underneath him, injuring his radio operator and another Marine. He was medevaced to the USS Sanctuary where he was treated and a month later died of his wounds. Semper Fi.

Wow, congratulations Marines! I have fond (and not so fond) memories of that quarterdeck. I love how the video starts with the bridge to the chow hall (bobo hall if memory serves). We crossed that fucker 6 times per day (there and back).

You never graduated OCS in anything other than cammies or sateens. That's all these candidates have since they are not yet Marines.

The difference is huge between OCS and boot camp. They are not Marines yet - only candidates- nor do they have any other uniforms.
