Wen plunger uncover the spill port the fuel inside will come out at high pressure.. To avoid impingement on pump body due to high pressure.. Deflector is given.. So the deflector will take the impact and save pump body

Injection nozzle tip should never be cleaned or grinded with wire brush! It damages and changes geometry of the holes where fuel pass through!
