Folks, wearing your seatbelt really does save lives and limits injuries. Being ejected from a vehicle is one reason so many die in car crashes…. This woman is blessed this marine came along when he did.
@SagebrushRamblesАй бұрын
Don't assume she wasn't wearing one. Seatbelts do sometimes fail especially in rollovers.
@jaklg7905Ай бұрын
@@SagebrushRambles Chances are if she were wearing one, they would have said. I am betting that she wasn't wearing one. That generation is stupid about seat belts. I am 51 and know plenty of people who don't want to wear one. They think that they are going to be "thrown clear" of the accident.
@leanneadams2549Ай бұрын
Not really a time to scold about wearing seatbelts! And you don’t know what happened so don’t assume !!! VERY UNNECESSARY comment!
@jaklg7905Ай бұрын
@@leanneadams2549 When is it a good time? How many people have to needlessly die because you don't want to hurt someone's feelings? You "do gooders" don't actually do any good.

And ACTUALLY sometimes seatbelts can end up causing a death in a crash. Wearing one is always the best option but don’t always assume it will save you either. I’ve seen it happen both ways.

I’m her son. When me and my stepdad arrived at the first accident we were told by the state trooper that we could not stay there and that my stepdad could not drive her home. The trooper ordered us to leave the scene until it was done. He wouldn’t let us look at the her vehicle and wouldn’t even let us check on her.

so she was sideswiped then had a single vehicle accident and was ejected from the vehicle (as in not wearing a seat belt after the first accident) after passing the exit she was supposed to take? am I hearing that right? nothing about this makes any sense unless she was somehow mentally impaired in the first accident..
@LadyLithiasАй бұрын
That she lost both legs implies that, perhaps, she was literally ripped out of her seatbelt (perhaps she's one of those who don't like the shoulder strap, puts it behind her body, uses only the lap belt. But yeah, I agree, that was a very confusing story, not at all presented well. If the sequence of events was: (A) Minor accident, (B) drove past her exit, (C) drove off the road and flipped her vehicle.... I'd say that she might have been shook up and not thinking clearly. OR she realized she missed her exit and tried to rectify the mistake instantly instead of going around. There could have also been another vehicle involved that caused her to overreact and they went about their merry way.
@sibhuskyguyАй бұрын
@@LadyLithias there is a 1% chance of being ejected from a vehicle when wearing a seatbelt... while not impossible, the chances are extremely low...

There’s something missing here. If the trooper had allowed the step dad to drive her to her destination, none of this would have happened. Seems like poor judgment on the part of the trooper and maybe a lawsuit is in order here.
