@DavidKWegley i think gays should just keep it to them selves,,,i did not go around the corps saying my private stuff,,i am straight,,but keep it to your self...wy do they have to let everyone no that they are gay,,,i do not understand the reason for it....keep it to yourself...

Gay men and women have to tell us in some way they are gay, or we don't know. They usually advertise they are gay if they are looking for a relationship. Today we have the Gay Pride thing going on as well. I really don't care; I'm like you, though. I really don't care to hear about it.

I had the pleasure, and the honor, of serving with Gen. Michael Hagee, 33rd Commandant, when we were both young lieutenants. I had the further honor of being invited by General Hagee to attend his Passage of Command to General Conway. Our Marine Corps was in good hands with General Hagee. I had the pleasure of meeting General Conway at the Marine Corps Museum dedication and I knew our Marine Corps would continue to be in good hands with General Conway. Best wishes, general in whatever you decide to do.

I miss his leadership... Amos was a terrible CMC, Gen Dunford was a good CMC, then Neller and Berger have continued Amos' ill ways and acts... smh!

@DavidKWegley You get another thumbs down for relevance or ignorance, I can't decide which. There is a clue in my name that may give a hint to my knowledge of the sacrifices of war.

Man this gets old. Each successive generation has its own definition of a Marine. My time it meant this; "Former Marine: Put down his pack and rifle and went on to civilian life, pack and rifle were his if he came back." Ex-Marine: Left in disgrace. Marine: Serving the colors, active contract." Probably get beaten to death again.

PDA!!!. My DI would've stroked out! LOL I remember our family Sunday like yesterday, "You clowns want to hug and kiss in uniform. WE DON'T DO THAT!! Maintain your bearing and respect the uniform. I better not see any PDA (public display of affection) or anyone carrying babies!!" LOL. Yeah. At one time that was the way of things. Wrong? I don't care it was the Corps of my time.

@crzycody4lyf Exactly. My Grandfather served in the Marine Corps during World War 2. Even witnessed the famous Flag Raising on Iwo Jima. He died a year ago at age 86. Even though he left the Corps in 1950, Until the day he died, he always said "I AM a United States Marine" He never said former or Ex Marine.
