Very few players who can strike the ball like him from long range… that goal vs Germany was a prime example. An absolute rocket into the top corner. He always seemed like a misunderstood guy… hard to believe that Italy couldn’t bring him back into the fold when they were so desperate for strikers for so long.

As a person who seldom follows live sports (but knows of many well enough) - it just saddens me - cruelly - well above words, to see uncommon talent like this go to waste. Having read all the 304 comments, I dare further point out Balotelli could have well been at or beyond cr7 levels. The instability seems having a different root cause. Comparison is pointless but it’s clear how effortlessly he does these ultra puzzling and miraculous moves. To a comment saying he was ‘hated’ “because he is black” (in italy) 1. Has he 3D printed himself? 2. Did he label himself that word or was this a ‘new world’ historic invention he is now tagged with? (quite a cheap connotative transaction) 3. As humans, are we still ready to place a ‘color’ name before the name “man” albeit boasting the humanity is (and knowingly so) superior to these shallow distinctions? I begin to doubt he is at the root of his flop. Maybe a vicious cycle of mighty potential, gradually realizing the battle was not only on the field. Till perhaps, doing whatever one wants as a human, remains the only option for self-respect?
