This happens because the VC and Switch versions remove some of the slowdown present while playing on an original N64

The answer is that all of those (except the original) are using emulation, and the emulator isn't designed that great, or at least wasn't programmed to account for nuances in n64 speed.

Interesting the music played the same speed on all of them, perhaps the music is synced up to a separate clock since audio device is fundamentally different and can play regardless of lag.

Sound has priority in N64 games over graphics, at least usually, I don't know of a game that doesn't. This might seem strange, obviously, but it makes sense, because hearing cutting audio is a lot more jarring than some slowdown.

Was the Switch version a USA or a PAL ver? You should compare the regions as well
