Mario Kart 64 WITHOUT Rubber-Band AI?

Another Gameshark Code. This one sets the AI state to the mode used in the introduction movie. Without rubberband, these AI are nearly impossible to beat. Any wrong move spells 8th place.

And the random item generation also keeps happening. Players keep having generated ipems even without touching an item box yet

This sounds and looks like you are playing with 7 human players as the characters constantly talks whenever they use their items or spins or whatever.

Remove the "rival" system and we could have a fair GP where you don't need to finish 1st every race to win.

@Garo: this happen even in the rival system where you don't have to finish first every race to get the win, in the normal cpu, even the primary rival is not guarantee to always finish first, and also he is not guaratee to always finish 2nd place, in 150cc Bowser castle the last race of start cup, I finish 4th place, but the 2 rivial finish behind me, because they got reck at the area that is always on screen even when off screen area during the finial lap, where they can't fast recover from an item hit.

Still seems like the typical gist of the AI in this game. Once a CPU racer gets far enough in front of you that you can't see them anymore they become impossible to catch.

what u mean not rubber banded? they still got items without picking up boxes, they got random drift boost even though they weren't aligning behind you.

rubberbanding is when the computers speed up depending on how far behind you they are

Yeah, Rubber banding gives the slower player's kart increased acceleration and top speed. It's like swapping kart for a better kart. It makes the game more of a weapons game than a racer. Seems the trick is not race lead like the snes version. Hang back behind the leader, get a really good weapon like a star, then time it's usage just right on the last lap.
