I tried recreating blue shell showdown having only the blue shell and mushroom as available items, but strangely enough, just having one other item in rotation drastically decreases the chances of a blue shell. I only saw like 3. Now of course there’s the 30 second timer but I did see 2 blue shells hit an AI one after another within 3 seconds so idk what the system is here. Still this custom items things is amazing and people are finally going to go back to single player. Edit: Having super horn be the only other item makes Blue Shells WAY more frequent. I’m guessing this works because people far back aren’t going to get super horns but they would get mushrooms. And of course you can use the horn to hit multiple people and blast multiple blue shells if you time it right making it a little strategic.

the blooper and blue shell's 30 second limit doesn't appear to be present with custom items. on a more boring note: lightnings are much less common than other items

Actually, you can have only the blue shell now. I think it was a glitch and was only meant for crazy 8 or as a default item

I tried this and it's genuinely HARD to get first. The only way I'd get first is by having someone in front of me last minute, have them get hit, and just pass them. It worked sometimes.

Bruh, this new mode is super crazy. When I tried blue shells only on London Loop on one point I got hit by six blue shells at once, then a bit later I got hit by freaking 9 or 10, THEN I got hit by I think 12 - 15 a bit later. Think that proves how crazy blue shells only mode is 😂😂🤣🤣

Good reference to the Mario movie! That quote pretty much explains the experience of this custom mode. So many Spiny shells come for first and (unless you're like that KZbinr that is able to outrun them) you're getting blown up!
