Haven't played this game in years but now I'm noticing just how expressive every character in this game was. They all actually talked, had a ton of voiced lines, cute victory and lose animations (especially Peach's). Now, a lot less of this stuff exists.

If this is the first Mario Kart game with Waluigi and the fact that they used 3D models instead of 2D sprites, then yes this game kicks ass

Best Mario kart ever , because 1) having two characters in one gives a whole world of new animations that add to the experience (and mechanics like hanging onto the kart for life when they’ve been blown up) 2) when you’re hit by an item like a banana or shell , you don’t lose ALL of your momentum , you can quickly recover and it feels dynamic (in other Mario karts when you get hit you can’t move for like two seconds I find that so annoying) 3) every character has their own specials , which makes for me makes them much more unique , instead of everyone having everything 4) physics were more free. For example if you were hit by a star , you could go flying far away , fall off the map , do somersaults in the air , spin sideways etc. In the newer ones it’s always just the same pre determined animation and knock back for everything If they would re-do this game with these things and add maps and characters it would be awesome

These characters sound WAAAAY more cheerful than the modern day mario and luigi xD, Even mario saying his own NAME sounds more cheerful in this game xD winning races, you name it xD it’s all more cheerful in double dash as compared to current games such as MK8 and Mario Tennis Aces. Could it be because they were younger and haven’t won as many races? Has Mario lost his interest in racing? XD
