For me personally, if I ever had trouble beating a cup for 3 star rankings, I would always go with Toadette × Tiny Titan; it was just my good luck charm. I mentioned lasy video that Rosalina × Standard Kart was solid, but I also liked the Offroader with Wario for the boost and weight. Both are good for 3 star ranks, being in a ligh weight vehicle is suicide.

I just use inside drifting bikes. I know that that is just really easy to use, so I am now trying to use Karts and slightly worse vehicles. Good job to you for using underrated vehicles, but if it's hard to get 3-star rank, you should use a better heavyweight vehicle, since you said lightweight is no good. I think using flame flyer would be better for you because of the high speed.
