Did he say 200 pounds of boost!?!? Its a diesel! What kinda cylinder pressures is he running? Or is it super low compression for a diesel?

It’s not super, super low compression, but it is definitely lower than stock. Also keep in mind is that boost is just a measurement of restriction. He doesn’t port the heads because of all the variations he’s tried it ends up with too wide of air distribution and the Center cylinders get torched. So by leaving it stock it flows more equal, but the boost number is higher.

It’s sort of just the design of the casting and the Center inlet port. You can overdose the valves, but with a higher lift and duration cam the Center pairs are open enough to Rob enough air from the Center inlet to lean them out or cause the outer ones to go rich. Depends on which side of the air fuel ratio you want to be on. His next plan with the common rail is to possibly create a “side draft” style manifold with individual runners to each cylinder rather than have a common plenum.

200 is low for a setup like this, see that commonly with single turbos in the tractor pulling world, some super stock tractors touch 400 pounds of boost with triple and quad turbos and a 466CI engine

Larry Larson runs a 136 on his pro mod that anybody can buy. The 143 that Mario has is one of two prototype. The other one is on a pulling truck. Potentially it could be unveiled at PRI for public sale after the got a bunch of data this summer from it.
